Imagine the following: your living room is under the furniture, your kitchen table has turned into the graveyard of power tools and your toaster is lost- your sanity too. Sound familiar? Hiring a professional storage service at a renovation may turn out to be your salvador or another burden on your list of problems to get bigger. The difference? The way you use it.

Plan Before You Pack
Do not simply place stuff in boxes and hope that it works. That will be a disaster – the ones in which you are paying three additional months of storage since you just cannot determine which box holds your winter clothes.
The first step is to sort before you tape the first box closed: daily needs, monthly needs and I will deal with this later. The final category is only at the deep storage. Have the necessities within reach. Smart pack, not faster.
Label everything. And no, that is not a label, miscellaneous.
Select the appropriate unit size
The majority of the individuals lease either a unit that is too small or a mockedly enormous unit. You will have an idea of an estimate that a good storage service provider can assist you in estimating. Anything, ask me. They are the eye that has seen everything and they can tell you whether a 5×10 or 10×20 will suit you or not.
In the case of a room-by-room renovation, you do not have to keep everything simultaneously. Pack and re-pack intermittently. This will maintain a low cost and the blood pressure within reach.
Secure What Counts
It is not only the antiques and wine collections that are put under climate control. Furniture made of wood has a tendency to warp. Electronics despise the wet season. The arts are delicate. Though one of your possessions falls into those categories then a generic unit will not cut it.
Dress the furniture with moving blankets. Take to pieces what you can. Pack in the wrong order – the heavy stuff on the bottom, needless to say.
A remodeling is naturally chaotic organization. You do not need to have a storage like that.
